How Audio Cleaner - Wavli handles recordings, purchases, usage analytics, and support information.
Wavli Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 16, 2026
Audio Cleaner - Wavli ("Wavli") is developed by Arseni Kipachu ("we", "us"). This policy explains how information is handled when you use the app. For privacy questions, contact kipachu_dev@outlook.com.
Recordings stay on your device
Wavli repairs, analyzes, converts, and previews audio and video on your device. We do not upload your recordings, waveform data, or audio-analysis results to our servers, RevenueCat, or an AI service. Wavli does not use your recordings to train AI models.
The app accesses files you choose to import and stores working copies, processed results, and project information locally. It creates a new result rather than overwriting your original. When you choose to export or share, the destination you select receives the exported file. For example, files saved to iCloud Drive or sent to another app are handled under that service's privacy practices and your device settings.
Your device's backup settings may include Wavli's local app data in a device backup. This is separate from Wavli's audio processing and is controlled by your operating system and backup provider.
Local settings and free exports
Wavli stores preferences, recent-project information, and an export-allowance record on your device. The allowance record tracks the free exports already used; it is not an upload of your recordings. Some local purchase and allowance information is stored in system-protected storage or the iOS Keychain and may persist after reinstalling the app.
Wavli does not require you to create an app account.
Purchases and RevenueCat
Apple processes subscriptions and lifetime purchases through your Apple Account. We do not receive your payment-card number or Apple Account password.
We use RevenueCat to validate purchases, restore purchases, determine whether Pro access is active, deliver paywalls, and understand purchase performance. RevenueCat receives purchase and subscription information, such as product and transaction identifiers, purchase dates, renewal or expiration status, and the store's transaction verification data. It also processes an automatically generated app-user identifier and technical context such as app and operating-system versions, store, locale, and currency.
We do not supply RevenueCat with your name, email address, recording names, file paths, or recording contents. The generated identifier distinguishes an app installation/customer record; it is not a Wavli login or a name we ask you to provide.
RevenueCat may connect to its services when the app starts or checks access, not only when you press a purchase button. Purchases, restores, paywall loading, and subscription-status updates require an internet connection. Audio processing remains on your device. Previously obtained Pro access may be available offline using cached subscription status.
We use purchase analytics and may compare different paywalls or prices through RevenueCat experiments. This can involve an experiment assignment, paywall-interaction information, and purchase outcomes. It does not involve uploading or analyzing your recordings. Wavli does not use advertising identifiers or track you across other companies' apps and websites for targeted advertising. We do not sell your personal information.
See RevenueCat's privacy policy and Apple's privacy policy for information about those providers.
Usage analytics and PostHog
We use PostHog to understand which tools people use, measure processing and export reliability, and improve the app. The app sends limited screen and workflow events, such as starting or completing an import, processing job, preview, export, or Pro-access flow. These events may include the tool and screen, file and processing-step counts, import or export destination category, output format and size, elapsed time, a limited error category, and whether Pro access is active.
Events include automatically generated customer, device, session, and operation identifiers, timestamps, platform, and analytics SDK version information. On iOS, the generated RevenueCat customer ID also identifies the PostHog profile, and we provide that ID to RevenueCat for its PostHog integration. This lets us associate subscription outcomes with app usage. These are pseudonymous profiles; we do not ask for a name, email address, or app login.
We do not send PostHog your recordings, waveform data, recording names, file paths, audio content, or free-form error messages. Automatic interaction capture, session replay, automatic crash reporting, and IP-based location enrichment are disabled. PostHog receives the network connection needed to deliver events. Analytics does not use advertising identifiers and is not used to track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising.
Analytics delivery uses the internet when available and does not block audio processing. See PostHog's privacy policy for information about that provider.
Permissions
Wavli uses the system file picker and sharing tools to access files you select. If you choose to save a result to Photos, the app requests the relevant Photos permission. You can manage permissions in iOS Settings. Declining a permission may prevent the corresponding import or export action; it does not authorize an upload of your recordings.
Support
If you contact us, we receive the email address you use, your message, and any attachments you choose to send. We use that information to respond and troubleshoot your request. Sending a recording to support is optional and is separate from the app's on-device processing. Please avoid sending sensitive recordings or another person's information unless you have permission.
Why we use information and who receives it
We use the information described above to provide the app and paid features, restore access, prevent purchase fraud, evaluate paywall performance, understand tool usage, improve processing reliability and performance, and answer support requests. Apple, RevenueCat, PostHog, and our email provider process information needed for their respective services. We may also disclose information when legally required or necessary to protect users, investigate misuse, or establish or defend legal claims.
Where applicable data-protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on providing the service you request for purchases and support; legitimate interests for security, purchase analytics, and app usage and reliability analytics; legal obligations for required records; and consent where required. Our service providers may process information outside your country, including in the United States, subject to applicable data-protection requirements.
Retention, deletion, and your choices
Local projects and results remain on your device until removed by you, the app's local storage management, or the operating system. You can delete projects from Recents and delete exported files in the destination where you saved them. Removing a project does not delete copies you exported or shared elsewhere. Deleting the app does not cancel an Apple subscription or necessarily remove Keychain records or device backups.
Purchase records may be retained by Apple and RevenueCat to maintain and restore access, prevent fraud, and meet legal requirements. Usage events and pseudonymous profiles may be retained in PostHog to evaluate usage and reliability over time. Support messages are retained as needed to resolve requests and maintain relevant support records. Uninstalling Wavli does not automatically erase previously collected purchase or analytics records. You can contact us using the privacy-request address below about those records.
You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account subscription settings and use Restore Purchases in Wavli. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information, object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent, or complain to your local data-protection authority.
To make a privacy request, email kipachu_dev@outlook.com. We may need limited information to verify your request and identify the relevant purchase or support record. Because Wavli does not require an account, we may not be able to associate an email address with an automatically generated RevenueCat record without additional information. Never send us your Apple Account password or full payment details.
Security
We rely on iOS app isolation and system storage protections for local data, and encrypted connections for purchase-service and analytics communications. No storage system or transmission method is completely secure. You control access to your device and the files you export or share.
Children
Wavli is a general-purpose audio utility and is not directed specifically to children. We do not knowingly request personal information from children in circumstances requiring parental consent. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Wavli or its services change. The latest version will be available on this page with an updated date. Where required, we will provide additional notice of material changes.
