Your videos stay on your device

Vauli edits videos and audio on your device. We do not upload your media or display third-party advertisements. Subscription, usage, and diagnostic data are handled separately, as described below. You do not need an account. Processing works without an internet connection when your selected files are already stored locally.

Local storage

Vauli copies imported files into its own storage and creates new results without overwriting your originals. Project contents, filenames, editing settings, imported media, and results stay on your device. Limited metadata, such as media format, file size, and duration, may be included in usage analytics as described below. Temporary previews and thumbnails may be cached. Device backups may include local app data according to your operating system and backup settings.

Subscriptions and paywalls

Apple handles purchases of Vauli Pro. We use RevenueCat to check subscription access, restore purchases, display subscription offers, and understand subscription and paywall performance. This sends purchase records and subscription status, a RevenueCat-generated anonymous app user identifier, Apple's vendor device identifier (IDFV), and paywall interactions such as views, plan selections, purchase attempts, and dismissals to RevenueCat. Related technical context can include the app and operating-system version, language, currency, and event time.

Vauli does not provide your videos, audio, project filenames, editing settings, name, or email address to RevenueCat. We do not provide a name-based account identifier or advertising identifier. We use the same RevenueCat-generated identifier to connect subscription-related activity with PostHog analytics, and store that identifier as a RevenueCat subscriber attribute. Apple processes payment details; Vauli and RevenueCat do not receive your payment card information. Subscription services require an internet connection, while media editing and processing remain on your device. See RevenueCat's privacy policy and Apple's privacy policy for their practices.

RevenueCat also forwards server-side subscription lifecycle events and revenue information to our PostHog project. These can include purchases, renewals, cancellations, expirations, product and transaction identifiers, subscription status, price, currency, event times, and the pseudonymous app user identifier. We use this to connect subscription outcomes with app usage and measure subscription performance. This forwarding does not include your media or custom subscriber attributes.

Vauli stores a local record of completed exports and unlocked result identifiers in the device's Keychain to apply the free-export allowance and let you save an unlocked result again. This record is not sent to RevenueCat. It can remain on the device after the app is removed. Deleting projects or clearing previews does not reset the allowance.

Usage analytics and diagnostics

We use PostHog to understand which tools people use, whether processing and exports succeed, and where the app needs improvement. This includes app launches and screen views; import, playback, preview, processing, and saving outcomes; paywall interactions and purchase or restore outcomes; and limited technical context such as app version, operating system, language, event time, and session information. Events can include the tool used, file count, format, file size, duration, processing time, and selected subscription plan, price, and currency.

PostHog also receives structured diagnostic events and sanitized reports of errors that Vauli handles. These contain known error categories, operation timing, and app-code locations where relevant. They do not include raw media-processing error messages, local file paths, or user-entered content. We do not enable session recordings, automatic click capture, or advertising tracking.

We use generated user, device, and session identifiers, including the RevenueCat-generated subscription identifier, to connect activity across sessions and understand subscription-related usage. These identifiers do not contain your name or email, but the data is pseudonymous rather than fully anonymous: events can be associated with the same app user or device.

PostHog receives your network connection when events are sent. It uses the connection's IP address to infer approximate country, region, and city, along with an approximate area location, accuracy radius, and time zone. Our PostHog project is configured to discard the client IP address from stored events after this enrichment. We do not request GPS or location permission. Network-derived location can be inaccurate, especially with VPNs or mobile networks.

Your videos, audio, thumbnails, filenames, project names, project contents, and local file paths are not sent to PostHog. Analytics runs separately from editing and does not prevent local media processing when you are offline. Our PostHog project is hosted in the United States, so analytics data may be processed outside your country. See PostHog's privacy policy for its practices.

Acquisition measurement

We measure which campaigns bring people to Vauli and how acquisition relates to app usage and subscription outcomes. Website and App Store campaign reporting is separate from the app's media processing. A website visit does not always produce an identifiable install or purchase. Unresolved sources remain unknown. We do not fingerprint your device to match website visits to app installs. We do not use an advertising identifier, such as IDFA, or request GPS access for this measurement.

Version 1.0.9 already enables RevenueCat's collection of Apple's AdServices attribution token. RevenueCat uses the token with Apple to obtain available Apple Ads campaign attribution and connect it with subscription outcomes. See RevenueCat's Apple Ads attribution documentation.

A separate direct Apple Ads attribution lookup is prepared for an app update and is not part of version 1.0.9. In versions that include this addition, Vauli requests an AdServices attribution token and sends it directly to Apple. This lookup checks whether Apple can attribute the install to an Apple Ads campaign. The token and Apple's raw response from this lookup are not sent to PostHog or passed to the app's JavaScript interface.

In versions with this direct lookup, the app sends PostHog a limited result: attribution status, campaign, ad group, keyword, ad and advertising organization identifiers when available, country or region, conversion type, and whether Apple reports a click or impression. These results can be connected to the app's pseudonymous analytics identifier and subscription outcomes. Failed or unavailable attribution remains unknown and does not prove a particular source. Permissions and sharing

System pickers give Vauli access to the files and videos you select. A file stored only in iCloud or another provider may need to download before import. That transfer is handled by your file provider.

Saving a result to Photos requests permission to add media. Saving to Files or sharing happens when you choose that action. The destination you select handles that file under its own privacy practices. You can manage app permissions in iOS Settings.

Deleting your work

Delete projects in Vauli to remove their app-owned files. Files still used by another project remain until no project references them. Settings lets you clear temporary files and previews. Removing the app removes its app-owned project files; backups follow your device and provider settings. The Keychain record described above may remain. Copies saved to Photos, Files, or other destinations must be deleted there separately.

Deleting local projects does not cancel a subscription or delete data already held by Apple, RevenueCat, or PostHog. Manage or cancel a subscription through your Apple Account subscriptions.

We retain subscription, usage, diagnostic, and support information for the purposes described in this policy, including service operation, product improvement, security, and legal obligations. Retention depends on the type of information and the service involved; we do not promise that deleting the app immediately deletes provider-held records.

Contact kipachu_dev@outlook.com to request access to, correction of, or deletion of information we can identify, or to raise a privacy concern. We may need a subscription reference or generated app identifier to locate the relevant records and verify your request. We do not need your media or Apple Account password. Some transaction, security, or legally required records may need to be retained. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights, including a right to object to processing or complain to your local data protection authority.

Privacy page and support

Opening this policy uses your browser and an internet connection. The website's hosting provider receives the normal request information needed to serve the page. Your videos and project data are not included in that request. The separate Vauli marketing website uses website analytics and campaign links as described in the vauli.app website privacy policy.

If you contact us by email, we receive your email address, message, and attachments you choose to send. We use that information to respond to your request. Avoid including private media unless necessary. You can contact us at kipachu_dev@outlook.com about information you have sent us.

If you voluntarily submit TestFlight feedback, Apple shares the feedback, screenshots, and diagnostic information you submit with us so we can investigate issues. This is separate from Vauli's on-device media processing.

Changes

We will update this policy if Vauli's data practices change and show the updated date above.
